A simple solution i have used in the past comes in handy again.
1 loosen the setscrew on the knob s shank.
Open the door wide and put on a pair of safety glasses to protect your eyes.
You can tighten a simple interior mortise lockset like the one shown at left as follows.

Make sure the lock is unlocked before you do this.

In some instances you have a door that sticks along the strike area the metal part of the door frame where it meets the outermost edge of the door.
You can do this by using the phillips head screw driver to unscrew both screws on the door handle.

2 hold the knob on the other side of the door and turn the loose knob clockwise until it fits snugly.
